Emerald Isle, NC is easily becoming a favorite destination Why? Well, aside from all the great wedding locations and good times they bring, awesome weather, beautiful beaches…well, quite simply, it’s the food! In this case, two places you definitely should try next time you’re in the area.
First, for dinner, you gotta check out the Icehouse Waterfront Restaurant. Excellent seafood, great wait staff, and if you eat out on the dock/pier thing they’ve got going on, its like going back 10 years before Katie was a TomKat and when Dawson’s Creek was being filmed a short distance south of here. And save room for dessert, its well worth it!
The new place which I learned about this past weekend was for breakfast. And that is Yana’s Ye Olde Drugstore – home of, without a doubt, the BEST apple fritters ever. Actually, they have apple, banana, strawberry and peach (peach only when in season) and according to the lady behind the
counter who was making them for us, the peach is even better than the apple. And the breakfast of eggs, potatoes, etc… was really good too – good enough there was a waiting list Sunday morning!
So I’ll leave you with that for now, and in a few days I’ll talk about and post a few great photos of Joe and Jessica who got hitched this past weekend at the Ocean Club.
If you do make it out to Ocean Isle, come back and leave a comment – let me know what you think of the Icehouse and Yana’s! Oh yeah, best part – they’re walking distance from each other :)
