Mike & Molly rock well past midight in Townson, MD

I think it was about 2 or 3 months ago I met up with Molly and her mom on a Sunday morning at Haebler Memorial Chapel at Goucher College in Townson, MD to go over the plans for the wedding. It was a great meeting – everyone was jazzed for the wedding. We talked about the ceremony, the giant group shot of everyone at the wedding (which worked out perfectly) and talked about where we would do the bridal party shots and some one-on-one shots with just Mike and Molly.

The day of, everything went perfectly. We started out with Molly and her MOH Kim at the About Faces Salon and then went back to Molly’s parents place to join up with family and finish up prep. Best part – the ride to the church. Molly’s dad drove her out in a vintage Austin Healey 3000 with the top down! You can’t beat that. Props go out to Molly’s brother in law for driving me out behind them so I could get some great shots of the ride out.

After the church, we headed to the Hunt Valley Marriott for the reception and it was reunion time. I saw tons of old great friends from weddings past. We’re talking a totally solid group of core friends, and I am always honored to be part of their big days and their weddings are always the highlights of my year. My man Mark Burch of Everything Entertainment rocked these guys out with some great music and lights well past midnight. Some serious singing, dancing, air jump ropes, dance circles, Molly’s sister was surfing her husband, her husband was banging out a serious one-armed Rick Allen air drums during Pour Some Sugar On Me – I could go on – but, I’ve gotta save some for MOH Kim and Justin, who will be the focus in 2 weeks at the Inner Harbor. For Dave and Jeni T.: you were missed, but the photo you see of Justin and Kim I left in there for you guys. See you in two weeks. For everyone else, we raise our glasses to the newlyweds – cheers!

Kevin & Kassie fall down the rabbit hole at SECCA in Winston-Salem, NC

We started the day at the Village Tavern in Reynolda Village for a brunch with the girls. I was able to see some of the amazing artwork and drawings Kassie has done and also learned of her love for Alice in Wonderland. We then headed over to SECCA for some hair and makeup, and met up with Beverly Shepard who did a great job coordinating the wedding. Carolyn Walch of Muse Salon did a beautiful job with Kassie’s hair.

It was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding, with only a slight drizzle after the ceremony. The little bit of rain did a nice job of really bringing out the colors of the grounds at SECCA and we had a beautiful session outside with Kevin and Kassie.

The reception went perfectly with the talents of K2 Productions, and I was pleasantly surprised to see former mother of the Groom Marlene of 5 Loaves catering the event.

Like the Cheshire Cat, we’re smiling for you, Kassie and Kevin – Cheers!

Adam & Jordan’s wedding in the heart of Washington, DC

I’ve always said, there’s nothing more popular than a bride and groom on a wedding day, and this held true several times on their big day. After the girls got ready, we hopped in the Hummer limo to make what should have been a couple of block’s drive to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, which sits a few blocks behind the Capital Building. Maybe the Hummer was too big to get around, but the driver decided to give us the long tour of the Mall to get there. Once we hit the last street and were about a block from the church (time was tight) – sure enough – road block by DC’s finest. The driver tried to explain the situation, but the officer had to check it out for herself. She came to the back, saw a beautiful bride, her parents, a bunch of bridesmaids and a photographer and figured we were legit – and off we went – lol. (Thinking about it, you know, we had a run in with another of DC’s finest on the engagement shoot too – what gives?!)

It was great to be back at St Peter’s – it’s an awesome church, and I was happy to see Wes & Krystin who were married here last year and are on the blog here.

After the ceremony, we did a great walking tour of the Mall with the bridal party and parents. We hit up the sculpture garden where Adam proposed to Jordan (again, cops were involved, but I wasn’t there for this one – yes, a trend is forming ;) ) and even got everyone on the carousel for a quick ride.

The reception was held at the Naval Officer’s Club right on the Potomac. There were some amazing views (as you can see in one of the photos below). The rest of the night was great food, tons of energy, and more past couples and now good friends like Steve and Katie (great to see you guys!).
