I emailed an inquiry for a date availability check and consultation request, but I haven’t hear back. Why?
You will get an immediate auto response from me confirming the inquiry. If you don’t see it within about 5 minutes, check your spam folder. You will also get a second email from me usually within 24 hours letting you know if the date is available or not and what the next step is. If you don’t get either of these emails, please call me direct at 336-287-4593.
We love the non-posed, photojournalist style, but we still would like to have a few more traditional, formal group photos taken. Do you do this?
Absolutely! While 98% of your wedding day coverage is non posed, non directed, and hands off, I always spend some time (usually after the ceremony, or sometimes before) taking traditional formal group photos with the family. I try to keep this portion short and relaxed so parents and relatives can get to the cocktail to entertain guests while we spend some time getting great photos of just the two of you before rejoining the guests.
We live in another state, so an in-person consultation is not really possible – what do you recommend?
Many of the couples I photograph live in other cities and states, and I am accustomed to working with them over the phone or through video chat like Skype. With my experience in a variety of wedding styles and locations, it’s easy to talk with you about packages, timelines, and any questions you might have about the photography and the wedding in general. Booking your event, including contract signing and deposit payments, are all easily completed online.
My wedding is not in North Carolina. Do you travel? How does that work?
I travel quite a bit for weddings coverage and enjoy it. If your wedding location is more than a 2 hour drive from Winston-Salem, I’ll arrive in to your wedding city the day prior and leave the day after your wedding. This allows me time to get in safely, start your wedding day fresh and stay until the reception is over. Travel fees are very reasonably set at around $300 for locations within about a 6 hour drive of Winston-Salem (this includes local beaches & the DC/Baltimore area). Email or call for locations which require air travel.
How far do you travel for weddings and is it really something I can afford?
I have traveled as far west as Colorado and California and as far north as Washington, DC and New York. Most couples have found that the small travel charge is very affordable. If your wedding is out of state from North Carolina, and you really like what you see here on my site, just contact me to find out more. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how affordable and easy it can all be!
How far in advance should I consider booking you for my wedding?
On average, most couples book about 6 to 12 months in advance. That being said, if you’re planning last minute, you should still inquire. There can be openings for later bookings even in the most popular months.
What form of payments do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Check. Most couples use credit cards because of the ease of online payment, and for the points.
One of the most common phrases I hear from new brides is “I’m not really sure, because, this is the first time I’ve gotten married.” And of course, how could anyone know the right questions to ask. I just got married myself and so I know how tough it can be. Everything from: “When is your first dance, before or after dinner?” ; to: “When are you starting hair and makeup?” to: “Where are you going after the recessional?”.
What puts me in the unique position to help with these and many other wedding questions is that I am often one of the few people who is with the bride the entire day. On average, I am with a bride from about 11am to around 11 pm, and sometimes as much as 8am to midnight. I see everything from hairdressers not having a mirror for the bride, to confusion as how the bridal party is supposed to have a grand entrance, to limos which are unable to get the bride to church because all the roads have been blocked off for a special event.
